I support Mr. Mayhugh's proposal for a separate subgroup for Dystrudepts. The old Umbric Dystrochrepts had a valid place
in the suborder level, and that is not captured in the present Keys.
I have no preference for Humochric. The name should reflect the dark surface property that these soils possess.
I suggest everyone turn to November in their 1999 Soil Survey Centennial Planning Guide. That is the Tusquitee Series. It
was previously an Umbric Dystrochrept. The present Typic Dystrochrepts is not descriptive.
