1. I am surprised that some of you guys do not know about Perverts. These are the Vertisols that need
a good psychiatrist!

2.The suggestion is good to recognize ""per"" taxa in some of the Orders and Bob's explanations are in
order. During the ICOMLAC days, we considered about an Ultisol with a Perudic SMR and similarly for
an Andisol (ICOMAND). The latter are more extensive. I have heard of Kandiperults in Assam, India.
However, we should resist the temptation of creating such taxa (though they fit the logic of the system)
until we have good descriptions and data of such soils with an idea of their extent.

3. So I would request everyone to provide Bob Engel with such info. We will try to overlay the SMR
map on the soil map and see if there are extensive areas worth considering. If we do locate such
areas, we may want to make a special effort to sample them.
