You are correct that no unique subgroup is provided for Endoaqualfs with both an umbric epipedon
and a thick sandy layer above the argillic horizon. However, the soil you are classifying should be
classified as an Arenic Endoaqualf, as the Arenic subgroup is first in the key. If you have several soils
that are both Arenic and have an umbric epipedon and the umbric epipedon is significant to the use
of the soils, you can propose adding an Arenic Umbric subgroup to Endoaqualfs. The procedure for
requesting changes to Soil Taxonomy is described in the Nation Soil Survey Handbook. Essentially we
ask that you provide a complete revision and a list the soil series affected, the extent of affected soils
and the significance of the proposed change.
