Would the revised taxonomic classification of the Watchung soil series
(found in Delaware), which formerly was classified as a Typic Ochraqualf,
now be a Typic Albaqualf or a Typic Endoaqualf? The criterion for
inclusion in the Albaqualf great group (an abrupt textural change between
the A- or E-horizon and the argillic horizon) seems to be met, because the
typical profile as recorded in the New Castle County soil survey contains a
silt loam Ap-horizon underlain by a heavy silty clay loam Btg1-horizon.
