Would the Watchung series, which is mapped in New Castle County, Delaware,
and classified as a Typic Ochraqualf, now be classified as a Typic
Albaqualf or a Typic Endoaqualf, given that the Ochraqualf great group has
been eliminated? The Albaqualf criterion of an abrupt textural change
between the A- or E-horizon and the argillic horizon seems to be met in the
description of a typical soil profile for the series, in which the
silt loam Ap-horizon is underlain by a Btg1-horizon of heavy silty clay
loam.
