Your soil should meet the ""pale"" clay increase criterion. The intent of this criterion is to include soils
with a large and abrupt clay increase at the top of the argillic horizon. Because we define the top of
the argillic horizon as the first point where the required clay increase is met, commonly the top of the
argillic horizon is above the largest clay increase. The criteria for this type of clay increase should be
written more consistently among the ""pale"" great groups. The criterion is probably written best in
Argids on page 333, item FBC.1.
