Fragment size class is assigned based on the longest axis, 42cm in your example. Our soil survey guidelines limit flagstones to 15-38 cm in length. At 42 cm, your example would be a stone. Fragment shape is used to capture if the stone is flat or nonflat. In your example, you would have a flat stone.
