Re: C or R horizon?

The use of a “b” horizon suffix to indicate a buried soil horizon is not appropriate in this case. The b horizon suffix is used to indicate burial of pedogenic features or horizons which formed in place prior to burial by more recent sediments or colluvium. From the limited description of the horizon materials provided, it doesn’t appear any pedogenic features are recognized in the 2C and 4C horizons.
