master horizon and suffix

please
1- what is the difference of M ( master horizon ) and u ( suffix) . It seems that in keys to soil taxonomy 2014 , the same and similar definition was applied for both of them . please define with an example

2 - Can we apply the u suffix with B master horizon or not ?

3 - Can we use the M horizon in soil profile description without u suffix ?
